Mens Lowland Tweed Shooting Jacket
Availability: In stock
Brand: John Partridge & Co
A British tweed shooting jacket, originally developed as a traditional shooting jacket for a special member of the royal family. Lowland is one of our most popular tweed coats and is still made here, in Staffordshire, England.
Designed with have action back body and articulated sleeve that gives you more swivel with less riding up. Today the Lowland is a little tweaked from those originally made, better drape and as much at home in the city as the moor.
All Lowlands are fully waterproof- we use a sealed seam `drop liner` between the outer fabric and lining. All are breathable. All come with inner- removable- shoulder straps for when the heat is really on.
Two way front zip- better for driving
Two way storm flaps- to keep out horizontal rain
Half adjusters across the back-keeps you looking slim- conditions apply
Two outside pockets with matte brass studs
Two hand warmers
Stand up collar lined with faux suede
Knitted inner cuff
Dry clean only
The action back creates an extra six inches of movement across your shoulders. The lower pockets are studded bellows (they expand out as you fill them) designed especially for shooting the Lowland is ideal for town and country wear. Because it is an easy to live with design it is a great all-rounder.
The outer fabric is either Brisbane Moss cotton, using deep tight woven threads that are virtually waterproof on their own, or our unique hybrid tweed- a mix of lambswool and polyester- this gives the performance of light tweed but with the wear characteristics of tweed twice the weight.
Little known fact- This design was developed and made for a very special Royal personage. When you see a rather smart tweed shooting coat you may recognise its origins.
For the hybrid tweed we strongly recommend a tweed cap
