America's Cup

"Your Majesty there is no second" - the words uttered to Queen Victoria in 1851, during a sailing race near the Isle of Wight. These words soon became the description for the America's Cup, and its single pursuit of excellence. The competition came to be known as the America's Cup after the American team beat the British in the race.

As the first of the three races starts this weekend in Portsmouth, we here at John Partridge are reflecting on what it means to be excellent to us. By embracing our rich heritage we are constantly striving to create products that encapsulate our history as well as incorporating modern times, thus creating garments that can last a lifetime.

This weekend sees the first time since 1851 that there has been an official America's Cup race in England, and we cheer on Sir Ben Ainslie and the rest of the Land Rover BAR team, hoping they can gain enough points to take them through to the Cup Challenger Series, which sees the final in Bermuda in 2017.

Good luck to team Land Rover BAR from all of us here at John Partridge
