Summer Tweed | How we style it

As the weather warms up and many of us put away our winter clothes there is one fabric many of you wont think to wear through the summer. Tweed. But don't pack it away just yet...

This country classic may be traditionally worn in the winter but through years of development there are many innovative tweed fabric combinations using blends of different wools, cotton and other light fabrics to make it less dense and heavy and more suitable for the summer months. Open, loose twills in the tweed also make for a lightweight alternative to winter tweed. Heres how we like to style tweed in the summer:

1. Tweed Accessories

One of the most versatile ways to wear tweed during the summer is through accessories. A Tweed bag, purse or even small accessories like a Harris Tweed hip flask. At John Partridge, we love wearing a tweed hat to breathe some country into our summer looks.

Our Tweed Baseball Hat is great for walks, fishing or just sitting in the garden with a book.

For Ladies summer style, we would team our Tweed Button Hat with a lightweight quilted gilet or jacket on a overcast day.

2. Tweed Summer Waistcoat

One of our favourite summer looks for men is a tweed waistcoat. Dressed with with cotton chinos and a white Oxford shirt for a smart look.
