Meet The Team | Sample Supervisor, Marta

In celebration of #madeinukday and #internationalwomensday we would like to introduce you to a very special member of our production team.
Marta plays a key role at John Partridge and is responsible for all sample creations before they go to production.

With years of experience and skills like no other, Marta is not only the best in the business but a person of great value and importance to John Partridge.

What is your role at John Partridge?
My role is supervisor for the sample line at John Partridge and I have worked here for around 7 years.
I am the first person to sew and piece together all the new styles and samples. My job is to turn drawings and ideas to life and ensure sizes, patterns and every step of the garment is well put together so that it flows through production.

What is the best and hardest parts of your job?
I love my job. The best thing about my job is I get to create garments from just illustrations, photos or comments. It can be a challenge and the hardest part of my job is if there is something wrong with the patterns I must correct them and really take time to make sure they are right. This is a very important part of my job to ensure it is perfect before it goes through to our production line.

What are your Top 3 John Partridge Products?
Mine would have to be:

2. The Colton Biker - A edgy classic style.

Tell us about yourself outside of work?
I am from Poland and I came to England about 7 years ago to start my sewing career. I have always liked sewing, from when I was 10 years old making my first skirt. My job is my hobby.
My second favourite hobby is house plants. I love plants. I like to take care of them and find they really relax me. I have about 150 - 200 house plants at home.
